The rangefinder market is full of different manufacturers and models all claiming to do the same thing.  They will all get you the distance to the flag but how well do they actually work. Which rangefinder is the right one for you, read on and see what real golfers are thinking?

Without a doubt, the Leupold GX-3 or GX-4 models are one of, if not the most popular and talked about laser rangefinder I have come across in my research.

Expectations

Accuracy is expected from any rangefinder, the Leupold Gx-3 and the GX-4 has an accuracy of +/- 1 yard or meter.  Ranging from 450 yards to the pin, 600 yards to most other objects on the course and 800 yards for a reflected target.

 Modes

Golfers like you and I expect from their laser rangefinders is to take a shot at the flag and not get background noise.  Leupold takes care of this with PinHunter Technology that will always hunt down the flag against any background clutter.

Battery life is always a concern when on the course, the GX-3 and the GX-4 use Lithium batteries and they have had great reviews of lasting the whole season or just one charge.  The battery is included in your purchase ready to use right out of the box.

 Optics

Real time users of the Leupold GX-3 talk very high of the red OLED optics in the GX-3 and GX- 4 models, how easy it is to read and how clear the optics are.   The Prism Lock Technology freezes the display and makes an audible chirp the moment a target is lock in on, split seconds to lock in on target and get a read out.

The Differences Gx-3|Gx-4

The True Golf Range (TGR) with Smart Key activated will give you accurate ranging information matched to the slope of the shot. The club selector is like having a coach in your back pocket.  GX- 3 can be used for tournament play but the GX-4 cannot, when in doubt ask the tournament administration.

Dislikes

The Leupold is not without dislikes, some golfers can’t justify the price of the Leupold GX-3 and GX- 4.   Some did not like the time it took to use the unit properly stating that it takes too long to learn, this will really depend on your technical level.  Mixed feelings on whether or not the club selection mode should have an off switch.

In Conclusion

To sum up the Leupold GX-3 and GX-4 one of the golfers that I interviewed summed up the Leupold this way “they all do basically the same thing and that is just fine but where the Leupold comes ahead of others is in the ruggedness and reliability”.  Pretty much says it all for this person, they really love their Leupold Gx-3, I am sure you too would be very happy with this unit.  I have used one a few times and they are just as nice as they say they are.

The Leupold GX-3 Digital Rangefinder for the price is a great value for a state of the art rangefinder, the reliability of the unit and usefulness makes the GX-3  a must for any serious golfer.  Order Now
